MULTIPLICATION TABLE: A unique and effective method for memorizing multiplication tables
Paperback
Part of: Fun activity workbook (2 books)
When parents and their children start learning multiplication tables, the same story often repeats itself: The two times table starts with a bang, but this initial success does not follow through to the nine times table. Ask any student a multiplication involving 7, 8 or 9, and you will immediately notice slight confusion and uncertainty in the answers.
We have tried to approach learning the multiplication tables in a rather different way. Why? This is one of the basic necessary math skills for school. Try to write a test or pass an exam without a good knowledge of the multiplication tables.
Rather than presenting multiplication tables in order from 2 to 9, The notebook follows the logical development of mathematical thinking. Don’t let this method concern you! The tables can and should be taught out of order. To practice, it is more important to understand the underlying information than just to cram. The entire multiplication tables can be thought of as repeated additions, and the sooner a child understands this and learns to do it consciously, the faster their logical processes will become. Moreover, our training does not end with multiplying by 10. We give the children the opportunity to guess what number we get if we multiply by 11!
The tasks are divided into 3 sections. In the first section, we study multiplication by 2, 4 and 8. Since 4 is 2x2, and 8 is 2x2x2, then some answers will be similar. Next comes the section consisting of 3, 6, and 9, with 7 presented separately. The final section has the simplest combinations, 5 and 10.
Let the child notice the pattern of answers themself. Ask what they paid attention to. Solving the mysteries one by one, the child will become more and more interested in mathematics. At the bottom of the page, instead of evaluating, we suggest decorating the hero. His mood will show the child how the task was completed.
Turn the exercises of learning and practicing multiplication tables into a logical adventure with the help of our notebook! And you will see that your child wants to study more.
